This is a GREAT and very simple fast, good playing chess computer game:

Ive sampled almost all of the computer shess games on the market, I should say at least previous to 2002 (good grief, which is a LONG time ago). I acquired the best programs in the world, everal of which were programed in Germany (Nimzo, Zarkoff), and they were very sophisticated. ANyway, I always liked this simple little Chenard program. No frills. ALways the best!

Computer Chess Winchen

Chessmaster (any version) is also a GREAT step by step teaching program.
I once played a tournament of each chess program against each other at their highest level, and Chessmaster won it.
