More on the subject of Wine:
Numbers 15:10and you shall offer as the drink offering one-half a hin
of
wine as an
offering by fire, as a soothing aroma to
the LORD."
Offering 'by fire'. Fire melts off unwanted dross from
precious metal. This refining process is from God. He allows
his people to undergo various trials and persecutions in order
to make them shine.
Christ had to go through his persecution. As the scriptures
points out; Christ learned 'obedience'.
I think this is so because he chose to be obedient to God
rather than to men, in other words,
HE PUT HIS GOD FIRST>
BEFORE ALL THINGS, even if it meant having to suffer.
Numbers 18:12" All the best of the fresh oil and all the best of the fresh
wine and of the grain, ( bread )
the first fruits of those which they give to the LORD,
I give them to you."
The High Priest offered up, to God, a sacrifice for himself
and for God's people.
"Christ offered his own blood." by the fire of persecution,
What more could he have given?
Psalm 60:3"You have made Your people experience hardship;
You have given us
wine to drink that makes us stagger."
Proverbs 31:6"Give strong drink to him who is perishing,And
wine to him
whose life is bitter."
Proverbs 4:17For they eat the bread of wickednessAnd drink the
wine of violence.
Psalm 75:8For
a cup is in the hand of the LORD, and the
wine foams; It is well mixed, and He pours out of this;Surely
all the wicked of the earth must drain and drink down its
dregs."
compare-Isaiah 64:6"For all of us have become like one who is unclean,
And
all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf,And our iniquities,
like the wind, take us away."
THE SON OF GOD was sinless, even so, he obeyed his
father and took upon himself all the wickedness of man.
Before this event, he asked his Father if he would take this
CUP away from him, but only if it was his ( God's ) will.
God so loved the world, he gave his only begotton son
that we may have life.'
Nothing man can do can eliminate this unclean condition.
But God has accomplished the elimination of wickedness
through Christ.
We must learn that only GOD is our RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Without God's intervention, mankind is unrighteous.
We must put THE WORD, on as a garment, He is our
LIGHT.
Without THE WORD, men wear the garment of
wickedness. THE WORD is our amor and our protection
from the missles of Satan's army
Romans 13:12"The night is almost gone, and the day is near Therefore
let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and
put on the
armor of light."
Romans 13:14"But
put on the Lord Jesus Christ, ( THE WORD )
and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts."
THE WOMAN OF FOLLY:"The woman of folly is boisterous,
She is naive and knows nothing. She sits at the doorway of her house,
On a seat by the high places of the city,
Calling to those who pass by,
Who are making their paths straight:
Whoever is naive, let him turn in here,"
And to him who lacks understanding she says,
"Stolen water is sweet;
And bread eaten in secret is pleasant."
But he does not know that the dead are there,
That her guests are in the depths of Sheol."
compare:
(Proverbs 9:1-6)THE WOMAN OF WISDOM:"Wisdom has built her house,
She has hewn out her seven pillars;
She has prepared her food, she has
mixed her wine;
She has also set her table;
She has sent out her maidens, she calls
From the tops of the heights of the city:
"Whoever is naive, let him turn in here!"To him who lacks understanding she says,
"Come, eat of my food And drink of the wine
I have mixed.
"Forsake your folly and live,
And proceed in the way of understanding."
He who corrects a scoffer gets dishonor for himself,
And he who reproves a wicked man gets insults for himself.
Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you,
Reprove a wise man and he will love you.
Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser,
Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life
:study:will be added to you."
1 Corinthians 15:53"For this perishable must
put on the imperishable,
and this mortal must
put on immortality."
